Harry Li is a Chinese Canadian pianist, educator, and arranger whose mission is to make music more relatable and accessible to all. Passionate about expanding the concert repertoire, Harry is a strong advocate for evolving genres, including video game music and piano transcriptions. His creative approach involves arranging music for various formats, from piano solo to small ensembles. He has also performed transcribed works, such as Ravel's String Quartet in F Major and "Driven by the Stars" from Monster Hunter: World, in his concerts.
As an educator, Harry is dedicated to fostering a comprehensive view of piano playing, drawing inspiration from conductors, composers, and often other instrumentalists. He helps his students see the messages beyond the notes and equips them with the knowledge to make informed decisions on their own. Harry also emphasizes the connection between physical movements and sound in his teaching, guiding students step by step to achieve the desired effect with the most intuitive solutions.
Harry holds a Master of Music and Graduate Performance Diploma from Longy School of Music of Bard College. He has performed at international venues such as the Edward M. Pickman Concert Hall (Cambridge, USA), Teatro Filo (Cremona, Italy), and Arlington Street Church (Boston, MA). Harry co-organized the MMTA Bay State Piano Competition in 2023 and 2024 and has participated in conferences such as the MTNA National Conference, continuously enhancing his knowledge and networking within the music community.
